Polycom Inc came to Northern Energy Services to improve on a lighting system that was several years old. They were looking to attain a lighting upgrade due to the cost of maintaining the failing system as well as hoping to save and/or lower their energy use.

After visiting the site, we completed a no cost energy audit keeping the customer’s priorities in mind. Given the complicated wiring at their location, we were still able to develop and implement a turnkey solution that would entail a complete lighting retrofit replacing office, conference, mechanical, loading dock and common areas with the latest technology new energy efficient fluorescent lamps, ballasts, and fixtures.

This upgrade project resulted in our customer accomplishing their goals of a new and energy efficient lighting system that will require little if any future maintenance for several years to come. We were able to garner our customer energy savings at an annual reduction of over 116,000 KWH at a more than 32% annual cost reduction. We were able to procure a nationalgrid incentive of over $48,000.00 for this project. The customer achieved a payback just under 2 ½ years.
